Dear Diary,
It’s Day 4 by myself….and I decided to drive Mr. LBB’s truck again.
First, I had to call Mr. LBB because I couldn’t get the key to turn.
I finally got out of the driveway. The gate is working again. But I swear it shrunk….or maybe the truck grew. No it’s not possible for a truck to get any bigger than this one…..
At first I had a little bit of trouble parking. I know it looks like I hit a sign….but don’t let your eyes deceive you….I actually hit the bush…which in turn hit the disabled parking sign. Then I realized I wasn’t disabled and had to re-park.
Someone lost their cat.
I solved my parking issue with a simple note:
And got home in one piece. All that for a trip to McDonald’s.
This truck thing is hard. I can’t wait to get my Prius back.
Love,
Ashley

Just shared this with my hubby. He said he wouldn’t park anywhere near a truck with a sign like that! LOL!! He said “I’d know better!” It is still hilarious to me. You make me laugh! 🙂

You are brilliant! I have needed that sign SO many times in the past when driving a bigger vehicle. Oh you Brave Brave Girl for leaving the house!

I’m solo this week too; everyone – including husband – is at camp.
I’m going to flow chart the living tar out of everything now. . .

Flow charts make decision making so much easier ha…..

Great flowchart! My husband has also been gone since Thursday with the three oldest. He took them camping and I stayed home with the youngest. Thankfully for me they took his car.

OMG! You and I are having the SAME EXACT problem this week. I have Mr. D’s truck, it looks just like Mr. LBB’s, Its a Ford F250 Diesel, lifted and happens to be WHITE, just like yours! Oh and the coil thingy, I get in trouble for NOT letting it disappear before starting that big tractor sounding diesel engine. To top it off, it has become my daily driver this week and I hate it! Working as a nurse in a hospital with a parking structure that doesn’t accommodate its height, doesn’t work out so hot either! Love this post! and your IG feed!

Too funny! I only have to drive my hubby’s huge pickup, which is also full of farming dirt in addition to being too big, less than once a year-to tote the animals to the boarding kennel when we go on vacation. Luckily we have a big yard/drive and no gate and the kennel has a big parking lot that doesn’t get too full. Otherwise-same problems. Oh but his is not a diesel, thankfully.

You should not eat from McDonalds…

I think you should market those signs. I need one! LOL.
I drive a minivan and usually I’m pretty good- until someone parks too close and then I’m the crazy mom backing up and pulling forward a hundred times with a look of sheer panic on my face. My kids even know to stay quiet until mom is completely out of the parking space. Sad, but true.
And I’d rather walk a mile than parallel park in it.

Haha!!! That sign is too perfect!! I know everyone that has had to drive a huge truck like that feels your pain. I’ve had to drive my dad’s 4-door pick up truck before and I’m amazed I didn’t hit any thing. Did I mention I have a 2-door car with a back up camera? That car spoils me! I’ll have to make my own sign like that next time 🙂
Love the flow chart

Ha ha!!! Love the sign. Will have to remember that if I ever have to drive my husbands truck. It is the same exact as your husbands. I prefer my van… That drawing is HILARIOUS!!! Showing this to my husband. Ha ha. Thanks for the laugh.

Your so cute. You have to have a parking exit strategy!!

So…did anyone park next to you?
Love your post (well, really your blog in general) … A great way to start the day. Thanks!

Hilarious! From one wife of a truck driving husband to another…..I feel your pain! Just not worth it….ever…..but in the unlikely event that you, say…back his truck into one of those bright yellow parking pole thingies that you couldn’t possibly see……calling him bawling doesn’t work all that well – just take my word for it 😉
Courtney Bianchetti says
Okay, you are a hoot. Love reading your hysterical blog. I think it resonates with all of us…thanks for sharing and being you!
Terry says
You’re such a hoot! I drove my husband’s truck to breakfast this morning because I am afraid someone will ding our new car. I go to McDonalds on Mondays with a small group and they’re still waiting to see our new car – won’t! He keeps his truck spotless so it’s actually quite scary for me to take it too and I don’t like driving it (lesser of two evils). I always try to park on the edge of the row or go round and round until someone leaves, makes me late for breakfast!
Regena Fickes says
Is it theft if I make a sign just like yours? 🙂 Oh wait, it is my son’s truck. You have given me a good case of the giggles, just when I needed it most! Thanks.
RobyGiup says
Still laughing for your sign!!! 😀
Devon says
OH MY WORD!!! This had me cracking up!!! I am very much the same – a horrible truck driver. Literally every time I drive the mans truck I curb check. He comes out when I get home to check the tires to see how bad I rubbed them…
Bahaha, sorry 🙂 I dont drive it well and thats just the brass tacks.
I LOVE your note. Maybe, if Im ever allowed to drive his truck again, Ill make one.
Colleen says
I guess getting better at driving the truck is a good thing, in case you ever had to use it for some kind of emergency! (hey–it could happen! lol 😉

I’m LMAO! My Murano is in the shop as we speak. It’s just my Hubbie and myself and we have four cars…I know, I know. When they’re all paid for, you never wanna get rid of them!! Truck for the 4 wheel drive and snow, old Mazda that gets incredible gas mileage and his Inifiniti dream sports car. I had to drive that POS (think about it…you’ll figure out what it means) 4 wheel drive truck this week. Gets 1/2 mile to the gallon and has no power going up hills or starting out from a red light position. I’m sooooo ready to get my Murano back! I truly feel your pain!
