Patience worked. I still haven’t resorted to better dyes….but I am pretty happy with how this Tulip 3-color kit turned out. I like “easy” and these kits come with the dye already in the squirt bottles so all you have to do is add water. They also come with gloves and rubber bands. You have to buy soda ash separately for the pre-soak. I left the shirts overnight wrapped in plastic to let the dye soak in. I washed them 3 times and the color is still very strong.
I was able to do 6 shirts with the kit.
The only mishap: my gloves tore….and my fingers are still green two days later.

Better to be an artist with green fingers than a gardener with a black thumb 😉

i love tie-dye, but I'm a bit old for it myself and my sons wouldn't be seen dead in it. Hmmm I might just do a table runner……if I can find any decent dye around here.
Thanks for always inspiring me! (if I'm not creative, I'm prone to bouts of depression)

Love the way they turned out so strong & bold. We learned a lesson not using soda ash, so of course we will have to try again
😉 Especially after seeing how lovely yours came out…

Love the shades! I haven't tie-dyed since the 5th grade – I should totally rock that look again . .
