An adorable photo taken by Lisa over at Ellebows of her daughter. Dress by Lil Blue Boo, Hat by ElleBows. What is the secret to getting children to stand still for a camera? If you know it, please share it with me!
She has more photos posted over on her blog today…I just wanted to share one.
Now back to work….I’ve got a bunch of projects to finish!

Very Cute! The key is catching them in their own element and taking lots of pictures. Everyone thinks my Mia must be so cooperative, but I have to follower her around, chase her to get her to smile and take lots.

This little shoot took place in 3 minutes! We were on our way out to Target and she was super excited (who wouldn't be – going to target and starbucks). We used the garage as a background and then she sat next to the car. I just kept snapping and snapping as fast as I could!

Fast snapping.
Also I resort to a LOT of bribes. Jelly beans and hershey's kisses seem to work wonders with my boys.
Last but not least, if I want something where they are both looking and smiling, my husband stands behind me and pretends to put spiders in my hair or sneezes on my head or makes farting noises.

That is just precious!

My youngest will not cooperate for the camera at all, but she's hilarious and I don't care if I ever get a "say cheese" smile from her! My oldest loves to get her picture taken so she will do whatever you tell her and often "poses herself".
When I used to do photography I did lots of candid and catch them in the act/element but when I was trying to do a specific shot I usually had to do something silly like have them sit on something silly, like a tootsie roll) and then I'd just engage them in conversation and play. Those are adorable photos and that dress is TDF.

Cute pick! I also have trouble to take picks of my girl. As soon as she sees camera she would put her back instead of front in the front of the camer. If I try to go around to get her she keeps on turning.. Unless I put camer down she will not stand neither she`l play or do her thing.. Hard case .. I know! 🙂

Fast shutter speed and bribes would be my guess.
But if only I knew! Then maybe I could apply it to TWO wiggly boys that don't want to take pictures…

I've never been able to keep them from moving around while taking pictures that's why I would use a roll of film for one good picture. LOL I guess I'm dating myself. Thank goodness for digital cameras. They hold so many more shots than a roll of film.

Elle is so cute! Love the dress, and hat!

it's impossible to get them to hold still. But I often have a prop for them to hold or a piece of candy to bribe them with. If they're holding something they usually play with it and then I can snap some "natural" looking shots.

Adorable! Thank God for digital cameras… it always seems like it takes me forever to get a good shot but at least I can chuck the rest. 🙂

my trick to getting my daughter to stand still is to stand her on a cute chair.
