A fun Sunday watching movies and drawing in Mommy’s bed. Mr. LBB bought us new sharpies last night so we’ve been drawing up a storm. We went on a shopping spree this morning at Micheal’s to make an art care package for some special girls and ran into an old friend too. Life is good. What are you doing for fun today?
A conversation last night:
Boo: Where did Daddy go?
Me: To buy us some new, SERIOUS markers.
Boo: PERMANENT markers?
Me: Yep. Sharpies.
Boo: YES!
Everyone needs a new set of Sharpies to brighten their day.

Hi Ashley!
We did play with lego and went out for some miniature rail exhibition. It was fun. The kids, 2 and 4 years loved it.
Thanks for lovely post. All the best for you. Love your blog, even I visit not as much as I should.
Greetings from Germany, ines

Sounds like a great day. And I love how your attitude always puts mine to shame. Would you consider linking this up to my brand new link party on gratitude and appreciation? I’d love it. Please?! 🙂

I’m ALWAYS telling my kids to leave my sharpies alone…I’m afraid they’re going to stain everything. You just inspired me to buy them SERIOUS markers and let them go to town. Why the heck not?? 🙂

I have been working on art all day today too! You and Boo are so inspiring! I’m finishing up a mixed media canvas using a technique that I learned from one of your tutorials! Thanks so much!

Hi Ashley, I just want you to know that I have been reading your blog for quite awhile. I was so shocked, like everyone, when you began this journey with chemo, etc. I really want you to know that everyday when I read what you write, I say a prayer for you. I have been praying that you would be not only healed and find peace and comfort, but also that you would learn amazing lessons that God has just for you, that no one else could learn, only you, in this great adventure. I also pray that you will be given the patience to know that how ever hard each day is, and I can’t even imagine how difficult days can be for you, that you know that God is with you. I love that through cyberspace, we can lift each other up in prayer.

Totally precious picture. Nothing like new art products. I still buy the 64 pack of crayons to color with my granddaughters. (My mom was way to OCD to let us play with markers!!!)
I spent the day making a canopy for my 1yr old granddaughter’s “Vintage, surf, tropical room. She sleeps in an “Amby” bed (which is like a suspended bed from a spring-really cool) I do sew, but this project was made with a embroidery hoop, double sided tape and a glue gun- (and 6 yards of white, sheer, organza) I’ll email you a picture. Prayers to you and your family. I look forward to your blog everyday!!

We love sharpies! Have you ever done sharpie tie-dye? We did it for the girls’ fifth birthday party and it is super easy. I blogged about it here http://twincess.blogspot.com/2010/09/sharpie-tie-dye.html

Love this!! I have a large pack that has all the colors. House rules: It stays in my studio. Earlier, I cornered my 9 yo son on the whereabouts of some missing ones. He uses them to make his Lego “guys” specific characters. There aren’t just regular ole clone troopers around here…oh no.
He sheepishly brought them to me…they were in his backpack..stinker!

Ooo, I forgot how much I loved Sharpies.
Have you ever tried Crayola wall crayons? I have no idea if they still make them, but those were the best when I was a kid. Color all over the walls, then erase it with the magic wall eraser.
