I used Martha Stewart holiday stencils and metallic paints to make some easy holiday coasters. The coasters came as a set of 6 from the dollar store! The metallic paints make the coasters festive and sophisticated.
The holiday kits are great because they cover a range of holidays….not just one:
Here’s my $1 set of cork-backed coasters:
First I covered them with a primer (I used white gesso):
Then I painted 2 gold and 2 silver:
I had to do 2 coats of paint on each coaster:
I used stencil adhesive on the back of the stencil:
Then used a sponge applicator to apply a contrasting metallic paint (silver on gold and gold on silver):
I sprayed the coasters with a matte finish and they were finished! So easy!
