A note from my mom:
Dear Mom, one day we’ll get you to embrace new technology…..like maybe when it’s time to get a new car and we can’t find one with a tape deck. Love, Ash

She must be related to my mom – she asked me if I could print an e-mail and fax it to her. I simply forwarded it to her… 🙂 And she believed me when I said that my iPod gets heavier the more music I add to it *g*. Moms are awesome!

Cute. Although I think I relate to your mom more… I’m youngish but it takes me a while to get used to the new tech. I still haven’t gotten myself a smart phone. The last time I switched out a for a new phone, they looked at me like I had three eyes when I asked for a phone that could make phone calls and send out texts. 😉

Ha Ha, This is probably how my kids are going to see me when I get older! I’m 28, and I’ve only sent 2 text messages in my life. My husband keeps trying to upgrade me to the smartphone age, but I just don’t see the need yet. My GPS on the other hand…lol

My FIL (80) does the same thing with tapes. And tries to format any type of storage media because he thinks he needs to do so. And he just asked me how he could make the internet faster with dial-up. He gets frustrated that he always has to charge his cell phone so he keep it turned off. : ) I love the man. I try not to laugh but I do sometimes.
amy dame says
does she also think that it matters what the volume is set at as she records the tapes? i thought that for YEARS, and my friends still make fun of me for it. when i realized that it DOES matter what volume my ipod is set at when i listen to it in the car, i felt so vindicated!
also, my grandma thinks that she can tell how long an audio book is by how thick the cd is…. though that might be more dementia related!

I love my mom dearly…especially when she calls for help with getting pictures downloaded from her digital camera, purchasing something online, or working the DVD player. After all, she taught me much more important things — like eating, walking, dressing myself, writing my name, standing up straight, brushing my teeth, working hard, treating others with love and respect, and much more besides. A little tech support is the least a loving daughter can do, right?

Whats funny growing up was when most people would get in our car for carpool instead of asking about radio or cd’s they would say, “so got any good tapes” lol
