Project Playroom: Vinyl Lettering

Still working on small projects in the playroom! I wanted to distinguish Boo’s kitchen section from the market section in her playroom so I got out my Silhouette machine and created the lettering “Sienna’s Cafe” over it. I ordered a roll of purple vinyl and the new extra long cutting mat:

 

 

Using the Silhouette software, I wrote out the letters Sienna’s Cafe and I drew a circle with the circle tool.

 

The great thing about the software is that you click the little circle/cross image next to the box and drag the words to the circle and it creates curved lettering:

 

I changed the font and increased the circle to be as large as I wanted the lettering to be on the wall. I ended up overlapping the words to save on vinyl:

 

Boo loves watching the machine cut the vinyl:

 

 

I use clear vinyl contact paper to transfer the cut lettering to the wall:

 

A little patience to make sure it gets applied just right:

 

Finished! Sienna’s Cafe is open for business!

The Best News

First, lookie who feels better today! Diesel! Here we are before I left for Dr. L’s office today for chemo:

 

 

But now I’m home. First the good news (good in a roundabout way haha)…..I’m anemic and my platelets are too low to continue chemo this week. When Dr. L told me that I yelled “YES!!!!” and just started beaming. Seriously, it’s like a snow day or vacation. I went in thinking I’d have an 8 hour day today of chemo and then I’d be in bed for the next 3 or 4 days. I consider that good news today. Now, I’m at home in the beautiful weather dreaming about what I’m going to do today!

Now for the awesome news…..the news that Dr. L said “is the best news you’ve had in a long time”……

The results from my scan came back:

1. The tumors on my lungs have been annihilated. They are about the size of top of pencil now. They are considered scar tissue. Woot!
2. The new cyst-like tumor that was causing so much pain in my pelvis has basically DISAPPEARED. Miracle!
3. The 6cm tumor that was chemo-resistant and growing back in my pelvis area has been reduced to 1cm…..a shrunken little piece of choriocarcinoma. 3rd line of chemo is working (and maybe those coffee and wheatgrass enemas? haha)
4. The lesion on my liver is no longer considered metastatic disease. I can live with that.

That is SIGNIFICANT improvement!

Thank you God. Thank you God. Thank you God.

I’ve been rescheduled to have chemo next week. Then maybe 2 or 3 more cycles of chemo and we’ll see where we are. It seems to be a trend that the tumors increase on the weeks that I have Methotrexate. So the yucky Cisplatinum might be the only stuff I get from now on. I’ll probably have another PET scan then to see what lights up with activity. I’ll be tested weekly to monitor my HCG levels to make sure nothing comes back….because if it comes back….it comes back quick we’ve learned.

Thank you for your continued prayers! I wanted to update everyone early….and now I’m going to do something fun today 🙂

I don’t think the awesomeness of the news has quite hit me yet.  I still have lots of family to call. I’m not going to die anytime soon. Woot!

Seriously….I needed that news! I haven’t had any good news since October from a doctor. This rocks.

This cute little 2.5 pound guy……

 

I’m not the only one with never-ending doctor appointments…..little Diesel has a liver disease and he’s pretty high maintenance. He’s on a special diet and homeopathic remedies. Every once in a while he’ll go through a bad spell where he gets an upset stomach. He gets really nervous and requires a lot of attention…..like last night.

In the middle of the night I hear Mr. LBB get out of bed…

Me: Everything okay?
Mr. LBB: Diesel just pooped under the sheets.
Me: Just put a towel over it….I’ll wash the sheets in the morning.

30 minutes later….

Me: Diesel just leaked under the sheets on my side.
Mr. LBB: Put a towel over it.
Me: Ugh.

This goes back and forth for a few hours….Diesel switching sides of the bed. Leaking. We run through all our towels.

 

Me: Omg….he leaked on the towel again.
Mr. LBB: Let’s give him more antibiotic and make him drink some water…maybe he’ll feel better.

I force feed Diesel  some water and antibiotic. He goes to sleep on my pillow.

An hour later….

Mr. LBB: I think Diesel leaked on your pillow.
Me: And…..I’m too tired to care. Goodnight.


Yep. I slept with dog poo on my pillow.  It’s the most eventful thing that happened in the last 24 hours.

I have no hair…..it could have been worse.
