Yes I am still here. Just trying to fit a few months of work into just 2 weeks. Here is my progress:
Oh and I took a day off to attend Elevate this year too. It was nice change and I got to see some old friends and make some new ones. I think this photo proves that I just can’t be serious…I sat next to Ashley Stock (Little Miss Momma) for most of the conference and we had a little too much fun. I so glad she posted this photo….even though I have sideburns from trying to grow my hair out a little:
I finally got a chance to meet Lisa Leonard too. Love her inspirational message:
Desiree of 36th Avenue was so funny and inspirational too but I spaced out on photography for the 1st half of the conference. I love that Elevate started at 10:30am and ended after dinner. That’s my kind of conference. Oh, and I sold my car so I had to hitch a ride with my in-laws to the beach where Brett was working so he could watch Boo. Just a little hectic…but I tend to thrive on chaos I guess.
So June 1st is our departure date for moving to the Hemlock Inn! Still need to finalize our stops…and yes I might be emailing a few of you still. Thank you for all the offers of hospitality. I can’t think of anything cooler than staying with readers along the way….even if it’s just parking in the driveway. So we’ll see what works out!
Brett and I drove to Beaumont today to look at a trailer to bring with us cross country. We won’t be able to fill it anymore because we’ve gotten rid of so much stuff but with a few “renovations” it will serve as a great “writing” room if I need more quiet space at the Inn.
My friend Megan is coming over to help me tomorrow prepare for the moving sale on Saturday. I’ve still got a “maybe” pile that I haven’t decided on yet. I pulled some sentimental items out of the pile to help raise some funds for a few readers in need tonight and tomorrow. You can view those items here. Wish I could help everyone that asks but we are running almost on empty over there. Maybe you need some artwork or a Tiffany bowl? Thank you!

It was so wonderful to meet you at Elevate! You are definitely one of those bloggers that got me into and excited about blogging. 🙂 Good luck with selling all of your items and getting ready to M-O-V-E. I love that you’re downsizing to the essentials — I can imagine how freeing that will be when all is said and done. 🙂 Have a great week!

I truly am in awe that you have simplified your life. Just taking with you what you love. A couple questions I’m hoping you’ll be able to answer as I haven’t been able to find an email address for you, just to send you a personal note. What is the name of the place in Santa Ana that you got your granite from? I’m in Orange County, and would love to check them out. I looked at your Roadtrippers itinerary. Looks so fun! We are actually driving to Colorado and then onto Nebraska this summer. Have you found places to stay along the way? And if so how? I am not into staying in grungy motels! And one last fun fact. My hubby works for Bushnell and I think your BIL does too in North Carolina. So I think they see each other at sales meetings. Funny how my hubby and I realized the connection. Thanks!

I love that pic of you and Ashley! So fun! Is it weird that I’m a little jealous of the trailer? I’d love to have some private writing space!!! The one in the middle of the photo looks so cool! 🙂

I’m cheering for your trip and the big adventure that awaits and will keep you all in our thoughts! We know the jumble of heart break, good cheer and fortitude moving demands. Nashville’s our home now — if you swing thru, we’d be tickled to show you around and/or give you a place to rest or run and play (have BBQ, sweet tea and okra chips, too!). xo

Oh how I wish we had our home already and not living in an apartment so we could have you guys over!!!!! If you don’t mind squeezing in the craft room and sleeping on an inflatable mattress you are more than welcome to stop by. As you know we’re in San Antonio TX now, which means you just might be passing by here on your way to lovely NC. Email me if you decide to. If not, don’t worry we just might take a trip to The Hemlock Inn when we head out to visit my SIL in Raleigh- on our way to visit my in-laws in VA. 🙂

Howdy, I believe your blog might be having internet browser
compatibility issues. Whenever I look at your web site in Safari,
it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it’s
got some overlapping issues. I merely wanted to give you a quick heads up!
Other than that, great website!

I must admit I am a bit jealous of your moving to North Carolina. I’ve always dreamed of moving my family somewhere off the beaten path for a time and getting back to a more simple way of life. North Carolina has been a place I have always dreamed of going, I don’t know why, or when the idea first popped up in my head, but it has been there since I was a teenager. I probably read some book that was set there. 🙂 Good luck with the move and your new adventure. I have to say I have greatly admired you over the years. You have a wonderfully positive outlook on life, a beautiful spirit, and a quiet strength that is rooted in faith. Thank you for sharing your stories and helping me get through my trials with a little bright sunshine from your blog.

I check here every day to see what’s up in boo land, and can’t wait for your Hemlock adventure to unfold…
When I checked in today, I had a sinking feeling that something was wrong, and sent up a quick little prayer that all was well with all of you.
Then, I made a rare visit to Facebook to see what was up with my cousins…and there it is. Among posts from family and friends, I see yours about the tornado. Weird feeling because moments before I was worried about you guys. Oh, my goodness, how scary. Thankfully you ARE all okay.
Safe travels from here on out!
