Prompt 46: Pick one word from the list and write to wherever it takes you: flame, emergency exit, braces, winding staircase.
From my journal: We were standing in front of a large, grand winding staircase. It looked real in the photo but it was actually a photography in the background…of the Titanic staircase. Why would a cruise line pick a staircase from an ill fated voyage?
Prompt 47: Wayne Dyer said, “We don’t attract what we want, we attract what we are.” What are you attracting? Similarly Oprah said, “You receive from the world what you give to the world.” What are you giving?
From my journal: She introduced me to her brother-in-law and said, “this is Ashley, she’s good people, you can trust her.” I don’t know why she said it, I haven’t known her for long, but he instantly warmed up to me. His wife warmed up to me too and I just tried my hardest to listen. Sometimes it takes a lot of effort just to listen.
Prompt 48: Make a list of all the streets you remember living on. Pick one and write about what you can remember about street.
From my journal: To date I’ve lived at 11 different addresses that I can remember. I started out at Sloane Square with my two friends as a roommates. We had too many cars apparently and the homeowner’s association didn’t like it when we parked on the street. They also didn’t like if we left the trashcan out more than a few hours after the trash had been picked up. Someone always took the time to drag our trash can up the walkway to the door, lift it up onto the front step, and then they left it there as a message. Maybe “take that you irresponsible homeowner” or “maybe your vision is bad, so we left your trash can here so you can’t get into your front door” or “you aren’t wanted here.” I think that’s when I pretty much started my indifference for homeowner’s associations.
Prompt 49: This is a prompt from Bonni Goldberg’s book Room to Write: Some writing begins with a sense of absence, a void, a sense of something missing or hidden. This unseen inspiration can take the form of an object, a person, or a lack of understanding. What you don’t see, literally and figuratively, can be what fascinates you and motivates you. Purposely avoiding something can have the effect of amplifying its importance, giving it greater power. […] Begin by writing the phrase “I don’t see,” and follow blindly wherever it takes you.
From my journal: I don’t see how people are so certain of things. I get so frustrated when people aren’t willing to listen, learn and think past what they’ve always known to be true. Correction: what they’ve always thought to be true.

From my journal: Overcoats always remind me of Inspector Gadget. I wanted to be Penny only because I wanted her fancy computer that was disguised as a book. I even used to make my own book using mom’s old cassette tape covers, but I was always annoyed at the little cross shaped prongs that held the tape in place. It messed up my whole design. I always had to cut holes for the prongs to fit through the paper because I couldn’t come up with a way to just cut the prongs off.
