I always get the question: What will you do when your hens get old and stop laying eggs?
My answer: I’ll be running the best darn chicken-retirement-home around. I’ll owe them that.
I could watch this video over and over. What a wonderful program, these sweet little chooks living with elderly patients.
Chickens really are fantastic pets if you give them extra attention. Please watch this sweet video of these elders interacting with their chickens.

Our chickens all have such unique personalities and are constantly keeping us entertained. It just makes me giddy every time I read a comment that says, “You’ve opened my eyes to chickens!” I love when a friend who has never held a chicken in real life stops by and holds Foshizzle for the first time. I am so entertained hearing about other people’s chickens when I post a new update on Instagram or on Facebook. Could chickens be the key to a happy life?
It’s been a drama-filled few weeks with our chickens. I’ll fill you in soon…each chicken’s antics deserves its own post. I just need to finish writing it all down. Chicken therapy is real y’all. We have a crush on them…and sometimes they crush on Brett:

I love that chickens can provide therapy! Great idea when the chickens need to be put out to pasture. Some of our chickens were pets. While we currently have none, I look forward to getting some again. I’m not so sure about 2 crazed roosters, but I did love our runt who turned into a rooster who looked as if he worked out compared to the other one. They can provide so much entertainment. Fruit, vegetables, grubs, & bread. To watch one run with it’s treasure & the others chasing after it, can be funny. Keep posting about your chickens. I enjoy reading about them.

My father just got two more yesterday, we are all trying to be the ones to name them. It’s an honour. My girls hand feed them and absolutely love them to bits. If you call them they run to you. My father is getting older and when he coughs his “girls” make this aalrmed little squek and run to him. warms my heart.
