Butterfly Paintings

Sometimes I think that my painting is all over the place but when I put it all together it actually looks like there’s a common thread. Recently I completed a bunch of butterfly paintings:

I love the layering aspect of creating them. First creating a painting all on it’s own and then blocking out the butterfly:

I love the bright colors in this one…it almost looks like collaged tissue paper:
