Have any of you completed every SINGLE day of the journal project up until now? I’d love to know! Don’t forget to snap photos for Instagram and tag #theliljournalproject. I love looking through them all!
For today’s journal page I thought we’d dedicate a page to a quote. Take a favorite quote and get creative with it. The quote below I made into a collage by cutting out each word and pasting the pieces onto other bits of paper:

I’m close! I’m on day 23 and I’ve been uploading to instagram. Thanks for the inspiration and promptings. I’m loving this project and have been spreading the word.

I’ve only done about 8 or so projects so far. If I like the day’s project, I print it out, fold it up and put it in a “crayon case” that I carry with me. In the case is a small watercolor kit, colored pencils, pens, etc. Then when I have time or the feeling strikes, I pull out whichever project I feel like doing. I’ve come to really love my ‘journal time’. Thanks so much for this, I never would have thought of any of these things or taken the time to put it all down in a creative way. I’m really doing this not only for myself (to my surprise, it’s like self-therapy!) but for my kids, so thank you from them too!

Ashley, I’ve been keeping up with the daily prompts. I’m enjoying this project so much! I hope you’ll stop by and check out my pages! Thanks for putting the prompts up, I look forward to seeing them each morning.

I’ve done almost all of them! If I’m not into one of the prompts on a certain day, I add it to a sticky note that I placed on the inside cover of my book. When I feel inspired, I look back at that list and choose something to do and cross off 🙂

I just started this about 4 days ago and am having so much fun with it! I have a question for you, though. Do you write on the front and back of your pages in your journal or on just one side of the page?

Hi, Ashley. I haven’t been able to follow every journal prompt, but I want you to know your prompts helped lighten the mood in my sister’s hospital room a few weeks ago. I told her about your suggestion to draw with our non-dominant hands so we drew left-handed portraits of each other. The nurses thought we were so silly… every time they walked through the door we were giggling. (We SO needed to laugh.) It really helped us pass the time. Thanks.

I have done all but three? I think? I am having such a great time with this. I already love looking back through my journal. Family really likes looking through it also. The most helpful thing that these prompts are doing for me is building up a collection of ideas about what I can include in a journal: different colors, imperfection, painting, collage, word associations, family history, mapping, lists, and more. It is opening up my eyes to what I can be doing with my journaling, so that even when someday you stop throwing out these ideas (sniff sniff)I will be able to keep trying new things and recording my thoughts, ideas, and history in many different ways.

I LOVE doing the journal pages. If I don’t have time on any given day, I keep the email in my inbox until I have a chance to write down the prompt on a post it and then I put it in my journal so I can sit down and knock out all of them at once. I usually get a few days behind during the week and play catch up on the weekends.
