I made an easy DIY scarf this past week and I’m still in shock that I made it. I made a scarf! This month as a Michaels Maker I was challenged to explore something new. I’ve tried knitting and crocheting too many times to count and I’ve always been annoyed with having to use my fingers and my stitches have always been wonky, so I decided I was going to try one of those knitting looms that I’ve had my eye on for months.
The loom was the easiest thing I’ve ever done! Now I’m kicking myself for all those times I’ve just walked by it thinking: it can’t be that easy. It was that easy. After a few passes of the yarn wrapping I could have made the scarf with my eyes closed…and there were no stitches to keep track of:
I used the Loops & Threads Knit Quick Long Loom and after about an hour I had finished my first scarf and every stitch was perfect:

I picked out the most beautiful yarn by Isaac Mizrahi….doesn’t it look like rainbow sherbet? I love the color shifting:
